Fitness Fads Driving Me Crazy

Right now if you ask me, Keto and high protein/low carb diet are on my list as number one most annoying trend about my industry, but coming into a close second might just be waist trainers…if you maybe want to tie my hatred for waist trainers with keto, wear it while you exercise.⠀

If your trainer lets you workout with one or recommends you get one…RUN, GET YOUR MONEY BACK, AND DON’T LOOK BACK. THEYRE DUMB. #SorryNotSorry I truly blame marketers for this bullshit, but shame on you if you’re a trainer and let your clients bring harm to themselves. As a trainer you should do your research, and I mean beyond google.⠀

Reasons Why Waist Trainers are DUMB AF:⠀
1. They just relocate your organs and squeeze them together⠀
2. They mess with your breathing by pressing too tightly on your rib cage⠀
3. That “skinny” feeling when you take it off, goes away after you drink water because the change isn’t real.⠀
4. Have you ever thought to yourself your waist is shrinking because you’re choosing to eat right AND exercise? (Hint Hint)⠀
5. If you are working out with them you are basically screwing up your posture by making those muscles weaker! The waist trainer takes the job of the stabilizers by turning those muscles off. YOU WANT TO STRENGTHEN THOSE MUSCLES NOT WEAKEN THEM⠀
6. Your brain is smarter than you and you unknowingly alters the kinetic chain of an exercise to adjust for the lack of range of motion⠀
7. Did I mention they mess with your organs?⠀
8. If you lose weight, while only doing that and not changing anything else…more the likely it’s due to increased sweat which can lead to dehydration⠀
9. They don’t make you lose fat⠀
10. THEY’RE DUMB⠀

Should I keep going? If you have one burn it. Just eat right and exercise correctly. There are no short cuts in this lifestyle…if it seems to good to be true it probably is…

5 “Super Weightloss” Products To Avoid

These days as long as you know how to market and fool people who are uneducated in health and fitness, you’ve won.  It’s a sad reality that we live in, but one of my missions is to educate people so they become more aware of scammy products.  Currently on social media here are the 5 “magic” weight loss products that are driving me INSANE

  1. Waist Trainers:  I actually made a video on my youtube channel about this product which you can watch my clicking here
  2. Sweet Sweat:  Understand that sweating extra means nothing because once you rehydrate everything you sweat out comes right back in.  For weight loss purposes you are accomplishing NOTHING.  Use the money on something else.
  3. Fit Tea, Boo Tea, Tiny Tea, etc.:  No tea is magical.  Tea should be something you enjoy, something you want to get health benefits from, and something that can enhance weight loss as long as your foundations (diet and exercise) are steady.
  4. Garcinia Cambogia:  It’s mental, you’re drinking a placebo.  Science has yet to come to an agreement on this.
  5. Superfood Detoxes:  So you drink these liquid shakes all day for 3 days and you lost 10 pounds….but you never learned how to eat healthy so 3 days later you’s gained back the 10 pounds you lost…forming a habit goes a longer way…fast is not always better

Waist Trainers: Use them or Lose them?

Waist Trainers; we’ve all seen them on social media being rocked by the instafamous fitness idols, but should you really be using them?

The idea behind the waist trainers is that they are supposed to help you lose weight and reduce the size of your midline.  But what really happens?

Aside from the fact that inconsistent waist trainer use really only produces temporary results.  You eat or drink water, your recently made “smaller” waistline goes back to normal and you just spent the last however many hours feeling uncomfortable for no reason.waist-trainer-blog-2

Through consistent long term use you may notice more permanent results.  Are you really losing fat and losing weight? If you did not change you’re diet you’re probably not losing weight and feeling and looking smaller.  That is because your fat is being redistributed as well as your organs.  As you can see by the pictures, it is NOT normal and most definitely NOT good for you.waist-trainer-blog-3

If you are changing up your diet beginning to exercise and you find yourself losing weight and getting smaller…have you ever considered it’s because of the lifestyle change and not the waist trainer?  Because it’s definitely not the waist trainer.

Another big issue I am starting to see is women using the waist trainers in the gym. Not only are you putting unnecessary negative pressure on your heart and your lungs but you are eliminating your stabilizer muscles since the waist trainer does the work for them.  So you are definitely not doing yourself a favor by not making the stabilizer muscles that play a huge role in your posture, a favor.

At the end of the day you are capable of making your own decision.  But honestly, the long term damage caused by waist trainers is NOT worth it! Just eat right and exercise!  Besides, most of the people promoting them are already in shape and just promoting for the hefty paycheck.
