Continuing with this months theme, not only was our back yard a hot mess, so was our front entrance. So much so that we discovered beautiful plants underneath the unkept disaster.
This project was also done by my husband. I helped with the mulch, rocks, and pressure cleaning, but he did the bulk of it (I prefer to work in the AC).
So basically we had 2 sections to redo: This first section was ridden with those grassy plants that attract rodents so we got rid of them. We cleared out the jungle, discovered beautiful rocks to use as accents and made that expensive copper pale the people had shoved in the back and turned into the centerpiece. We also added plants to the window sill and mulched and added rocks to border the square.
The next patch was a forest that we had to take a part. As you can see we kept a few of the bromeliads, added podocarpus which have now grown, mulched, added a border, added a hose, made everything look more ordered, and lastly we added the stone pathway. The pathway used to be a nonexistent dirt patch. Underneath all of the first we discovered all of those pavers and re-worked them into a beautiful path for easy garbage rolling. And of course, we also had to pressure clean the driveway.
All in all I am 100% please with how this DIY turned out on our low end budget for the project. Stay tuned for more home DIYs!
