My go to summer dinner recipe is also my usual go to dinner recipe because it’s

  1. Easy & Convenient
  2. Fast
  3. Keeps me feeling lean
  4. Does not make me wake up feeling stuffed and bloated

My go to dinner recipe for the last 4 years has been my Herbalife shake

  • 2 Scoops of Formula 1 Healthy Meal
  • 1 Scoop Protein Drink Mix
  • Ice
  • Water…Sometimes Almond milk depending on my mood
  • Done in less than3 minutes

Day 3: June Goals

I would have preferred this part of the blog challenge be on the first of the month as that’s when I write down the month’s goals as well as check my progress for my quarterly and yearly goals.

I set goals in 3 categories

  1. Household (my husband and I)
  2. Personal Fitness Goals
  3. Business Goals

For the purpose of this blog I will go over some of my business and personal fitness goals for the month as my husband prefer I keep our household goals to between us. So here we go!

  • Personal Fitness Goals
    • If you follow me on instagram, facebook, twitter, or youtube, you know that in May I was dealing with a lot of gastro, new found allergies, and hormonal issues.  So this month my goals are not focused on hitting certain weight, inches, or physical numbers, but on focusing on feeling like my usual self.  I want my energy back, the feeling of being bloated 24/7 to go away, the side effects from some of the meds to disappear etc.  So while I still plan on keeping with my healthy lifestyle, I will not be tracking anything to the T.  I just want to feel like my usual self again.
    • Get consistent with 5 Training sessions a week (3 powerlifting, 2 general fitness)
  • Business Goals
    • To test out the first 25% of my new ebook and begin putting it together.  The goal is to release this new ebook in December of 2017
    • Move 80% of my remaining apparel collection to make room for the new summer collection!
    • Get a record number of people started on their fitness journey with my fitness programs
    • Get 10 new people started on their nutrition program and into my accountability chat
    • Make sure all of my personal training and nutrition clients hit ALL of their monthly goals
    • Put out 10 New Youtube videos…so far Ive put up 2!
    • 100 Youtube Subscribers
    • Gain 8,000 new followers across all 5 of my instagram accounts
    • Hit 6000 Twitter Followers
    • Gain 1,000 facebook fans between both my LetlerFit Inc. and Melissa Letellier fan page

I keep my goals in a place where I see them every day in order to stay motivated throughout the month.

June Blog Challenge

In an effort to further change things up on the blog before returning to strictly fitness posts I decided to hop on this June Blog Challenge I found scrolling through Pinterest.  Usually I blog 2 times a week so the first goal of this Blog Challenge is to hit all 30 Blogs.

Day 1: What do you do to express your creativity?

My entire business is an expression of my creativity.  I’m not much of an arts and crafts person, but I am more of a digital expressionist.

  • Apparel:  My apparel line is one of the main ways I express my creativity.  It is bold, unique, and not for the person who prefers simplicity.
  • Programs:  My 7 Ebooks are all different, use variation, and creativity to help others achieve their health and fitness goals.
  • Social Media:  As of right now I am the person who designs and creates 100% of the content for all of my handles.  I thoroughly enjoy putting everything together, coming up with the quotes, visuals, etc.  Eventually I know that I will have to hire someone to take on the content creation, but for now I am having so much fun with it.  One thing I do plan on always doing is being the person you speak to when you message any of my pages. I hate when people outsource their pages and have someone else to response.

Why did I start LetlerFit?

About 2 years before LetlerFit even came into thought my involvement with the Health and Fitness industry had been through tae kwon do when I was younger (to read more about my tae kwon do back ground click here) and as an Herbalife Independent Distributor 4 years and counting!

As someone who want to help as many people as I possibly can I was frustrated because naturally not everyone is interested in Herbalife Nutrition.  It is what it is.  So one day having a conversation with a friend expressing how I wanted to help those not interested as well as a way to better serve my current clients.

And then it dawned on me, I could created a separated independent company/personal brand dedicated to fitness as a way to expand the reach of my mission to empower as many people as possible, especially women into a healthy and active lifestyle.

LetlerFit apparel started because I wanted a way to help women feel confident and make a statement whenever they’re working out.  Before having my own line people loved my unique leggings, clothing, etc. that I wore from other brands so I said why not create my own line that reflects my personality.

Now, 2 Years later LetlerFit has allowed me to help my Herbalife Nutrition clients get on a solid workout regimen and help sedentary women become active and reach their fitness goals.  I couldn’t be more grateful for the LetlerFit fam.

Your idea of average is not always someone else’s.

I feel like there are 3 types of people in this world:

Person A:  Is happy with a 9-5, never wants to put in anything extra, is happy with doing just enough to get by.

Person B:  Works a “9-5” but is always putting in extra hours, going the extra mile in attempt to climb the corporate ladder and do better for themselves within corporate America

Person C (aka me): The entrepreneur.  The person who lives breathes and sleeps their business.  The person who would rather sit at home on a friday and saturday night and put in work.  The person whose ambitions go beyond the typical owning a house, living a middle class life, being satisfied with a few vacations a year, or being ok with requesting days off.  The person who wants to create a legacy.

Whichever person you are, i’m here to tell you IT’S OKAY!  Whatever brings you happiness is what matters.  Where my BIGGEST issue lies is when people try to get others to conform to their own personal level of average or feel bad for not thinking the same as others.

If you are person A do NOT try and bring down person C because they want more than what you want.  If you are person C except that person A is not like you and look for more B’s and C’s to hang around.  My biggest pet peevs are when people patronize the go getters and the doers for doing too much, not living in the moment, blah blah.  The same way I hate when entrepreneurs try to convert people who fall in my A category to the B or C category.

Becoming aware of what you think is average and understanding that everyone has their own idea of what average is, is something that is ok.  If you are a person B or C my biggest piece of advice is get rid of the A’s in your life.  They aren’t like you, nor will they ever be like you.  They won’t make you rise to the next level, they won’t tell you to keep going when you want to quit, they will tell you that leaving a legacy doesn’t really matter.  It’s ok for people to fall under the A category, but its not ok for you (a B or a C) to succumb to the thoughts of an A person.

Let the A’s hang with the A’s.

B’s and C’s need to stick together, motivate each other, better each other, and create legacies together.

Establish who you are and become ok with it.  There is nothing wrong with either person, but if people were meant to be the same we wouldn’t need employees, managers, bosses, or owners.

10 Non-Fitness Facts About Me

  1. My favorite animals are Giraffes: Why? Aside from their awkward dimensions being their most beautiful asset. Their markings are like the human finger print, no giraffe has the same markings.  They’re vegan (goals!). Giraffa camelopardalis is there scientific name which came from the ancient greeks thinking they looked like camels with a coat of a leopard.  How do I know this?  I wrote a paper on them in General Bio a few years back.  So I could go on…
  2. I’m a workaholic:  To the point where I wake up in the middle of the night with new ideas running through my mind.  My brain does not shut have an off button and  I don’t take days off.  Even when I go to the beach., outing, etc. I have to answer to clients, talk to other people I meet about what I do, or create content. Even our honeymoon I worked everyday (a little less extreme than normal, but still got my 4-6 hours a day), but hey it pays off…lierally.
  3. I think I’m still considered a newly wed:  I got married on December 17, 2016.
  4. I have 3 pets:  They’re all hairless!  1 Chinese Crested Hairless dog (secretly looking for another) and 2 Sphynx sisters we recently rescued in January. It’s a lot easier to love on them when you don’t have hair going up your nostrils.  But seriously, they’re the best they don’t shed or smell!  My cats do require more baths than my dog though…the irony
  5. My favorite color is pink:  It’s just a happy color
  6. I have a shoe problem: Christian Louboutin to be exact.  Back when I lived care free at my moms when all I did was save money to reinvest in the future because I had no serious bills to pay my once in a while splurge would be a new pair.  Since my priorities have changed however I foresee my 7 pair collection to stay at 7 for a good while and that’s 100% ok with me.
  7. I have a mug collection:  I use about 3-4 a day, but somehow I’ve ended up with over 50 mugs (and counting…oops)
  8. I should not be allowed at TJMaxx or Marshalls:  Overtime I go it’s $70-$100 on new mugs, candles, or home decor.  (new homeowner with an empty house over here)
  9. I cannot be trusted at petsmart:  I go in for food or litter and come out with new outfits every time.  They’re more styling than I am.
  10. I hate sleeping in:  I feel like it’s wasting the day.  Don’t get me wrong I believe in sleeping 6-8 hours a night but definitely no more than that.
