Three Habits to Adopt in 2017

2017womanIt’s time to start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions, and many of you will likely resolve to cut back on unhealthy habits. While cutting out junk food and sweets may be a good idea, there are several habits you should definitely take into consideration.

Stop beating yourself up. Compliment yourself, get rid of negative self talk, and tell yourself you’re more than strong and capable. Make 2017 the year where you stop degrading yourself and focus on achieving your goals.

Ditch the workouts you hate. Some of us don’t like to run, and that’s fine. Trying to force yourself to do a workout you have zero interest will only serve to reduce your motivation to work out. Find alternatives to get your cardio going. If boot camp is too intense, consider yoga. Take as much time as you need to find a workout plan that works for you and you genuinely enjoy doing.

Forget the scale. It’s important to maintain a healthy weight and BMI, but you should not be stepping on the scale every single day obsessing over the digits and decimals. These numbers do not necessarily reflect all of the work you’re putting in to reach your goals, nor should they define you. If you insist on keeping it around, try and break from the habit of stepping on it every single day.
